Rental and Hall Information

The Citadel community Association Centre is situated at:

     870 Citadel Drive NW, Calgary Alberta T3G 4B8

The building consists of the following spaces for rental:

  • Multipurpose room for approximately 60-90 people (25 ft. by 36 ft. = 900 Sq. Ft.)
  • Meeting room (19 ft. by 14 ft. = 266 Sq. Ft.)

Currently there is no partition between these two spaces so the total space available for rental is 1166 Sq. Ft.

 

 

Hall capacity is between 70 and 114 persons.

There is a small non-commercial kitchen which is equipped with a stove, microwave, dishwasher, and fridge/freezer and two sinks.  The kitchen is not certified for use as a commercial kitchen therefore only reheating of cooked food on stove top and oven is permitted.

The building also has two washrooms and a foyer for hanging coats. All areas of the community hall are wheelchair accessible and equipped with facilities for those with special needs.

Banquet style chairs and rectangular tables (2′ x 6′) that seat 6 are available for use (set-up not included).

The hall must be cleaned and vacated by 11:45pm on Sunday; 11:00pm Monday to Thursday and 1:00am on Friday and Saturday.

Rental Rates:

CCA Members:

      $35/hour (GST included) Sunday to Thursday; Friday from 9am -5pm.

   Weekends:

      $35/hour (GST included) minimum of two hours

      $250 (GST included)  Friday 5pm-1am.

      $250 (GST included)  Saturday 9am-5pm (1/2 day) or 5pm-1am (1/2 day).

      $450 (GST included)  Saturday 9am-1am (full day).

Non-members:

      $45/hour (GST included) Sunday to Thursday; Friday from 9am -5pm.

   Weekends:

       $45/hour (GST included) minimum of two hours

      $350 (GST included)  Friday 5pm-1am.

      $350 (GST included)  Saturday 9am-5pm (1/2 day) or 5pm-1am (1/2 day).

      $550 (GST included)  Saturday 9am-1am (full day).

 

Fees/Damage Deposits/Penalties: (separate payments)

      $400 refundable Damage Deposit for all events serving alcohol or longer than 4 hours

      $200 refundable Damage Deposit for meetings and events less than 4 hours

      $100.00 Early Occupancy Penalty

      $100.00 Late Occupancy Penalty

Hall rental is available on a first paid basis and is subject to availability depending on CCA events and programs. A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the hall rental is required to hold a booking. (This amount is deducted from the final payment.)  All prices include GST.  Damage deposit required upon completion of rental contract.  

 All cancellations are subject to a $25.00 processing fee.

Cancellations must be made ten (10) days prior to the rental date for the deposit (minus $25.00) to be refunded.  If cancellation occurs less than ten (10) days prior to rental date, the full amount of the deposit is forfeited.

If payment has been made in full, it will be refunded less the appropriate deposit withholding and processing fee.

All cancellations must be done in writing via email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or in person.

All renters are required to sign a rental agreement. The terms of the agreement will be strictly enforced. Picture ID must be shown.

Liquor permits are to be purchased by the person renting the hall and signing the rental contract and a copy of the liquor license must be provided to The Citadel Community Association prior to the rental date.  A copy must also be on display during the event/meeting should there be an inspection.

Decorating is permitted, however only painter’s tape may be used on the walls (no pins, tacks, nails, masking tape etc).   Fog machines, or any other machines that generate steam or smoke are not permitted as they will set off the fire alarms. Renters will be liable for a $300 false fire alarm cost.

Rental of the hall does not include the following:

  • Catering
  • Setup of tables, chairs (unless requested at an additional cost)
  • Liquor license
  • Linens for tables and chairs

Cleaning – not included in the rental fee and the renter is responsible for ensuring that the hall is left in a clean and tidy state at the end of the rental period. Cleaning supplies will be provided as part of the rental fee.  Please ensure that the time you have rented the hall for includes time for set-up and cleaning. 

  • All tables and chairs must be wiped down and returned to the storage location
  • All decorations removed without damaging the walls of the hall
  • Floors need to be swept and mopped, if required
  • If used, the fridge, stove, sink and counters in the kitchen need to be washed down and the dishwasher emptied
  • All garbage, recycling and composting must be sorted and put in the correct bins at the hall

Empty recyclables left in the hall will be donated to an organization chosen by the CCA.

No animals are allowed in the CCA Community Center, unless they are service animals or special consent has been provided by the CCA.

The CCA Community Centre is a smoke free environment and thus no smoking (of any substance including e-cigarettes) is permitted in the building, the breezeway or on the patio or within 5 metres of the building.

In renting the CCA Community Centre the Renter agrees to take the premises at his/her own risk and agrees to indemnify and save harmless the Citadel Community Association against any and all claims arising from any incident, including any injury or damage sustained by the Renter, any member of the Renter's party or any third party arising from the rental of the Hall or use of any equipment in the Hall.

All persons entering the building are to abide by the Government of Alberta, the Alberta Health Services and the City of Calgary’s rules and regulations with regards to COVID-19.

The Citadel Community Association has taken the following steps to reduce the risk of the spread of COVID-19 within the facility:

  • Only one event in the building at a time.
  • Reduced the building capacity for rental space and encourages the use of the outdoor breezeway and patio to allow physical distancing.
  • Increased cleaning and disinfecting of all high touch surfaces and disinfecting the building after each use.
  • Placing posters at major entrances and within the building to remind visitors on how their actions can decrease the risk of spreading COVID-19.

Please note that the Citadel Community Association is volunteer run (no staffed office); to view the hall or to sign a rental contract, a specific day and time must be arranged in advance with the Rental Co-ordinator.
