Community Block Watch

Block Watch is a crime prevention program that encourages community members to work together to enhance the quality of life in their community by reducing and preventing crime. This year, with your help, we hope to give Block Watch a stronger presence in the community.
The goals of Block Watch are to:
- Reduce crime in a neighbourhood through the active participation of a majority of community residents
- Increase the reporting to police of suspicious and criminal activities
- Promote neighbourhood cohesiveness and community pride
A membership in the Block Watch program is free and our aim is to get as many residences in Citadel registered as possible.
If you would like to become involved in the Block Watch program, we currently have requirements for the following volunteer roles/duties:
- serve as a Block Captain
- serve as a District Coordinator
- assist with making telephone calls
- liaise with other Block Watch organizations
- liaise with the Calgary Police
- write articles for The Citadel Link newsletter
- train new members or new Block Captains
If you are interested in volunteering in the Block Watch program and can spare a few short hours a month, please call the community association’s main telephone number at (403) 874-0202 or send an e-mail to: citadelblockwatch@citadelca.ab.ca.
