Due to popular demand, the Citadel Community Association hosted a Stampede BBQ instead of the traditional Stampede breakfast. What perfect weather we had which helped us achieve a record turnout for the event. We catered for 800 hamburgers and 500 hot dogs with coleslaw and beans - and we were left with very little food at the end of the day!
This year we had a variety of jumping castles, a petting zoo, balloon makers a of course the “live band” to entertain you. We are interested to hear your feedback for events and entertainment for next year!
A big thank you goes out to our volunteers: Those who were there from early morning to setup, those that manned their stations during the event, and those that stayed long afterwards to tear down and clean up. Without your dedicated help, this event would not have been possible.
A big shout out goes out to the Scouts and Guides that took on a number of duties.
We also hosted a number of guests at our BBQ event, and we would like to thank the following for their dedicated support of Citadel.
- Jason Luan (MLA)
- Cllr. Joe Magliocca (Ward 2 Councilor)
- Heather Mackay (Community Recreation Coordinator Representative - City of Calgary)
We would like your feedback – so watch out for the survey on the website and on Facebook (BBQ or Breakfast) for next year’s event.
Looking forward to next year’s already.
